Onion Bhaji


Features of Onion Bhaji

Served as snacks. Vegetarian dish. A cuisine from West Bengal(Eastern India). Speciality: A cuisine for Durga Puja/Sharodiya festival.

Ingredients for Onion Bhaji   (Click here for measurement conversion)

2 cups Onion, sliced

1 Tablespoon Green Chili, chopped

4 Tablespoon Besan (Bengal Gram Flour)

Oil for shallow fry

3/2 teaspoon Baking powder (optional)

Salt to taste

Method for making Onion Bhaji

Mix all ingredients with a little water. The consistency of the mix shall be as thick as cake mix. Heat oil in a pan. Take small portions of the mix using your fingers and pour in oil. Pour as many portions as you can manage. Fry till deep brown. Remove from oil when done. You can have it with rice and dal, or khichdi. You can also have Pyaji as an appetizer.
