Arabic Cardamom Shortbread


Features of Arabic Cardamom Shortbread

Served as snacks. Vegetarian dish.

Ingredients for Arabic Cardamom Shortbread   (Click here for measurement conversion)

2 cups Flour

2 teaspoons ground Cardamom (optional) or 1 Tablespoon Orange Flower Water or Rose Water (optional)

1 cup Pure Ghee

1 cup Icing Sugar

50 blanched Almond halves or Walnuts or Pine Nuts or Pistachios

1/2 teaspoon Baking Soda

Method for making Arabic Cardamom Shortbread

Melt ghee in a saucepan on the stove. Add icing sugar to ghee and mix till sugar is completely dissolved. Remove from heat. Add cardamom and gradually add in the flour and baking soda. Mix well. dough should not stick to ur hand. Add more flour if necessery. Roll 1tsp of dough at a time into balls. Place onto an oven tray, flatten slighly. Place a nut of your choice in the middel of each cookie. Bake at 180C for 10 minutes,or untill tops are cream.
