1 cup Margarine or Butter
1 Tablespoon Margarine or Butter
2 cup Sifted Flour
2 Tablespoon Almond extract
3 Eggs
2 cup Confectioner’s Sugar
1 cup sliced Almonds

Method for making Almond Puff (1)
|
|
Cut 1/2 cup margarine into 1 cup flour until mixture resembles coarse meal; add 2 Tablespoon cold water and mix with a fork until well-blended. Divide dough in half. Squeeze each roll between your hands until you form a 8-10 inch snake. Place snakes on an ungreased cookie sheet and pat into 2 rectanges about 2-3 inches wide and the width of the cookie sheet. Place 1 cup of water and 1/2 cup of margarine in a saucepan. Bring to a boil and remove from heat.Add 1 Tablespoon almond flavoring. Stir in 1 cup of flour. Add eggs, one at a time mixing until each one is mixed in well. Spread over pastry rectangles, smoothing the top. Bake at 400 degrees F. for 45 minutes. Allow to cool. Combine 1 Tablespoon margarine with confectioner’s sugar, 1 Tablespoon almond flavoring and enough warm water to make spreadable. Frost pastry and sprinkle with sliced almonds. Cut into slices.
