Scalloped Oysters


Features of Scalloped Oysters

Served as main course. Non-vegetarian dish.

Ingredients for Scalloped Oysters   (Click here for measurement conversion)

2 cups Crumbs, buttered

1 pint Oysters, cleaned

1/2 teaspoon Salt

1 dash Cayenne

1/3 cup Cayenne Pepper

Method for making Scalloped Oysters

Butter a baking-dish or scallop shells. Place 1/4 of crumbs over bottom of dish, add 1/2 the oysters, cutting them in half if large, sprinkle with seasonings. Repeat crumbs, oysters, seasonings, add oyster juice. Cover with remaining crumbs. Bake at 350 degrees F., 30 to 40 minutes, for casserole dish, 15 minutes for shells. If shells are used, 4 cups crumbs will be required.
