Method for making Ancho Honey Glazed Ham
|
|
Soak ancho chilies in warm water until soft. Remove from water, chop finely and place in a mixing bowl with 1/4 cup honey. Stir and let sit. Remove ham from package or can. Score a diagonal pattern 1/4-inch deep with a knife and dust ham with salt and pepper. Bake in a 350-degree oven for 10 to 15 minutes. Stir fresh herbs into your favorite pancake batter and refrigerate until needed. Combine balsamic vinegar and sugar in a saucepan and simmer until it reduces by one-third. Remove from heat, let cool slightly and add maple syrup. Remove ham from oven, coat with Ancho-honey glaze and return it to the oven. Make pancakes, slice the ham and serve everything with the syrup mixture.
